Whole Earth Enterprises is a family-owned small business that provides full-service vacation rental services. We own and operate two spacious home rentals in Caspar, California, on the Mendocino Coast, and in the popular tourist and fishing destination of Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We also provide booking and concierge services for other vacation rentals in the Mendocino area. Birdie & Howie, owners of Whole Earth Enterprises, split their time between Caspar and Zihuatanejo and have developed strong relationships with local tour providers as well as artisans, chefs, shops and restaurants. We use these relationships to our guests’ advantage, providing special package rates for access to food & shopping tours, private gourmet meals, guided hikes, scuba diving trips and more.

Ideally located between two popular beaches, Playa la Ropa and Playa Madera, Casa Maravillosa is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath house that is carved into the cliffs overlooking Zihuatanejo Bay on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. One of our favorite features of the house is the expansive terrace with hammocks and built-in couches for a front row seat to each night’s spectacular sunset over the bay as well as a television and dining area. Two of the bedrooms also have smaller private terraces while all bedrooms have A/C. We’ve recently renovated the kitchen that overlooks the terrace with both decorative and functional upgrades including professional grade appliances so you can easily mix up a cocktail, cook dinner and settle into a hammock for an evening in paradise with salty ocean breezes and the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below.
Casa Maravillosa is walking distance to downtown Zihuatanejo as well as many fine beach restaurants, hotels, water sports, yoga studios and other activities. Rates begin at $200 USD/night and are flexible based on number of guests and your duration of stay.

Nestled into the woods and facing the Mendocino Coast headlands overlooking the ocean, Caspar Coast House is a nature lover’s paradise. We designed and built this spacious 3115 square foot home with an open floor plan to make it perfect for social gatherings such as family reunions, weddings and retreats. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a studio-style master suite as well as a gourmet kitchen with enough stove tops, dishwashers and space to feed a large crew, a comfortable living room with fireplace and dining room, all filled with an eclectic mix of art and collectibles. The house is situated on 1.15 acres of ocean view property and is “landscaped” to be a seamless extension of the natural forest preserves and headlands that surround us.
We are within 5 miles of two beaches, state parks, the quaint town of Caspar and the historic Victorian village of Mendocino. We offer onsite massage and beauty services as well as packages for local restaurants, guided hikes, day trips and more. Rates begin at $200 USD/night and are flexible based on number of guests and your duration of stay.
